Charging demand is not evenly distributed, and the averages hide almost everything useful. A workplace car park and a residential street produce opposite load curves from the same fleet of vehicles.
Residential demand spikes hard between six and eight in the evening and then collapses. Workplace demand builds through the morning and stays flat until mid-afternoon. Put chargers in both places and the combined curve is far kinder to the local network than either on its own.
This is why the interesting question for a property developer is not how many chargers to install but where the diversity sits. Twenty units sharing a managed supply will serve a building better than eight on dedicated circuits, and cost less to connect.
